Greater Manchester Junior League U13's - 26/02/06

The 2005/06 Greater Manchester Junior Hockey League U13s took place on Sunday 26th February at Belle Vue, Manchester.  The Stockport teams were made up of players from Heaton Moor Juniors, Reddish Green Ladies, Heaton Ladies and Werneth Juniors. 

U13 Girls

We played 5 matches, won 2 and lost 3. We only had 6 players but they all played brilliantly.

The team was made up of Yasmin Hasoon in goal, Hannah Meadwell defence, Olivia Kemp defence and midfield, Tiffany Dempster midfield and attack, Abi Saunders midfield and attack, Leah Richardson midfield and attack. To be fair the girls worked really hard and Sam Barton who is managing them altered the tactics depending on who we were playing.

Against Wigan we won 2-0 with Leah scoring both, quite an easy game and a good one to start with. Next we played Tameside and lost 1-2 again Leah scoring, we had our chances but couldn't score more goals. Abi and Leah worked well together as did Olivia and Leah. Bowdon proved the toughest opposition and they beat us 0-3 having said that even in this match we defended brilliantly and kept going but the fire power was weak with Leah on her own most of the time. The best match was against Bury, a very strong well organised side and the score see-sawed, first Bury then us, Leah again score our two goals, unfortunately Bury scored 3, a vey good game to watch, the girls were not overwhelmed by Bury's strength. Last match was against Didsbury Northern and we beat them 5-2. Leah scored 3, one a cheeky reverse push. Tiffany scored two. The girls need congratulating because all the way through they kept their heads up even when loosing, they worked hard for one another and they enjoyed the matches, each one gave 100%.

U13 Boys

U13 boys Again due to City of Manchester and Didsbury Northern not showing up the boys only had one competitive match. This was against Manchester Juniors, they won 4-1. Details to follow.
